What is Dialysis?
Dialysis is a life-sustaining treatment that removes waste, toxins, and excess fluids from the blood when the kidneys are no longer able to function properly. It helps in maintaining the balance of electrolytes and fluid levels, preventing complications associated with kidney failure.
Types of Dialysis Offered
- Hemodialysis (HD):
Blood is filtered through a machine using a dialyzer. Sessions are performed regularly (typically 2–3 times a week) in our clean and well-equipped dialysis bay. - Peritoneal Dialysis (PD):
A catheter-based dialysis performed using the patient’s abdominal lining as a filter. This method can be suitable for select patients and is taught and supervised by our trained team.
Who Needs Dialysis?
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD Stage 5)
- Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) with fluid overload or toxin build-up
- End-stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
- Patients awaiting or recovering from a Kidney Transplant
- Severe electrolyte imbalance or uremic symptoms
